Album Info:This line once ran from Valdosta Ga to Palatka Fla. NS obtained trackage rights from CSX to operate from Jacksonville Fla to Palatka Fla. NS removed their rail from Lake City Fla to Palatka Fla soon after.

Description:  My plan here was to get a shot of the two trains meeting. The CSX train was moving fast and boy did I time it wrong. I took the shot with the nose behind the signal. I was very disappointed as this was the only time I saw a meet here. I added the shot here to show how things use to look in Hampton. The road in the foreground is county road 18. You can even see the old Southern sign that reads "Hampton" next to the SBD switcher (3rd unit back)

Description:  The 2801 leads it's train north at Florahome past mile post 269. Other than trees, there wasn't much scenery on this route. Torsten was able to include the mile marker and the Florahome Nursery sign. That's also State Road 100 on our right.
